2018 1 oz Gold American Eagle Coin: The Lady Liberty design on the obverse of the Gold American Eagle coin is based largely on Saint-Gaudens original interpretation. In the current design, Lady Liberty strides forward with her right foot in front of her left, holding a torch in her right hand, an olive branch in her left, and her long hair brilliantly flowing to the right. The reverse of the coin is equally patriotic in its portrayal of the American ideal of freedom. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA spans the top of the coin while IN GOD WE TRUST is just above the female bald eagle and just below the right wing of the male bald eagle. The reverse was designed by sculptor Miley Busiek and perfectly compliments the obverse of the coin. Each coin is minted at West Point, NY. Each coin contains 1 oz.
