The next most desirable 1715 Fleet Rings are those verified from the wreck with Mel Fisher provenance, not individual stating their item is 1715 Fleet. The Pyramid style was a known type found from individuals aboard. The state of Florida calls these rings either high Karat, likely 22k or low karat, likely mostly a copper ring. They also value the ring based upon designs, with etchings, called FANCY Fleet Rings , vs plain. This partial ring, is an Archeological Treasure. To some at first glance a full ring would be more valuable. Actually, the State of Florida would choose this ring over another of the same design, adding yet another to the collection. This original 7 sided ring was cut and divided. Was it from a 1715 Fleet Salvor who survived, perhaps perished making his way to St Augustine? The English who raided the Salvage camp, then chased off by the Spanish? Back then a small amount of Gold was much more prized then Silver, which dare me to say , was almost common and plentiful! Jewelry from time capsules like the Atocha and 1715 Fleet are museum pieces, as most went to the melting pots during the past hundreds of years! This is the only way to own a 1715 Fleet Gold Jewelry Artifact at a reasonable price! Very rare, and highly collectable! Last 3 photos from Florida Museum displaying similar Authentic Pyramid Rings.
