The 1 Ducat Gold Coin is available from years of our choice and are in varied condition. Produced by either the acclaimed Austrian Mint in Vienna or the Royal Dutch Mint, the 1 Ducat Gold Coin possesses a rich history that spans all the way back to the 12th century. It would serve as one of the Austria’s primary forms of currency until 1915 due to the hardships imposed by World War I. Each 1 Ducat coin has been skillfully minted from. 1106 troy oz of. 986 fine gold and possesses a diameter of 20 mm. Coins included in this collection are offered in a wide range of conditions as well as varying years (VY). The artwork displayed on the 1 Ducat Coin pays homage to two of Austria’s most significant rulers. On the front side of the coin is the portrait of Emperor Franz Josef I, whose reign lasted from 1884 to 1916. This image depicts the proud ruler in profile, crowned with a laurel wreath. From his noble facial features to iconic beard, each minute detail has been skillfully engraved so as to provide an accurate portrayal of this influential historical figure. Encircling this lifelike portrait is an inscription, which reads, FRANC IOS I D G AVSTRIAE IMPERATOR. The reverse side of the coin offers tribute to an early set of rulers, the Hapsburgs. This powerful family would control the entire Holy Roman Empire -including Austria- for four centuries. Proudly stamped across the coin’s back is the Hapsberg Coat of Arms, which depicts a spread winged double eagle, carrying a shield. In its left talon it carries both a sword and a scepter, while its right talons uphold an Imperial orb. These objects symbolize the family’s belief that they were ordained by God to serve as rulers over his empire. Also contributing to that message are the three crowns that hover above the eagle heads. Lastly, serving as a border to this emblem are the phrases, “LOD ILL REX A A ” and “HVNGAR BOHEM GAL” along with the coin’s denomination and mintage year. The 1 Ducat Gold Coin is a striking bullion piece that will undoubtedly enhance both the financial and historical value of any collection.
