US $5 Liberty Gold Half Eagle Coin Extremely Fine (XF) Or Better Random Date
Obverse Inspired by Benjamin West’s famous painting Omnia Vincit Amor (Love Conquers All) , the obverse features a portrait of Lady Liberty. Her hair is tied back with hanging curls. She wears a coronet inscribed with the word LIBERTY. You’ll also find the year of issue on this side. Reverse Modeled after the Great Seal of the United States, the reverse features a heraldic eagle with a striped shield on its breast. It holds arrows and an olive branch in its talons. This design by Christian Gobrecht offered the American people hope for stability and assurance in a time of great social and technological change. The denomination and mintmark are inscribed. It shared a design with the new Eagles releases the year prior and the Quarter Eagles that would be produced the following year. This allowed the US Mint to continue its long-standing tradition of uniformity among sovereign coins. These coins were produced through 1908 at various mint locations, noted by the mintmark on the reverse. The coins in this category will have a randomized year of issue, depending on our current inventory. Each of them is in the condition of extra fine or better.
