Commemorating the Chinese Lunar Year of the Horse, the Perth Mint has produced this 2014 1/10 oz Australian Gold Lunar Year of the Horse Coin. Containing 1/10 oz of. 9999 fine gold this coin comes in BU condition. This is the seventh release out of the 12-coin second series. This Series spans the years 2008 – 2019. These particular gold Year of the Horse coins date were minted from January 31, 2014, to February 18, 2015. According to Chinese Astrology, those born under the influence of this sign are believed to be extremely animated, active and energetic, and hold a positive attitude towards life. The obverse side of the coin features the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, along with the weight, purity, denomination, and the coin’s date of issue. Inscriptions on the obverse include “AUSTRALIA” and “ELIZABETH II”. The reverse side features a horse galloping through a vast grassland with mountain ranges in the background. A Chinese character for “horse” appears above the horse. Below the horse, the inscription “Year of the Horse” and Perth Mint’s traditional’P’ mintmark also appear.
