Super Antique Georgian Solid 22K Gold Third Guinea Coin Pendant Necklace 1800

A fantastic antique Georgian solid 22k gold third guinea coin pendant, dated to 1800. The third of a guinea coin was also known as a seven shilling piece and was issued between 1797 and 1813 (aside from 1805 and 1812), it was created largely as a response to the shortage of gold due to the wars with France. This wonderful antique George III coin pendant has a solid 22k yellow gold 1800 third guinea with a toothed border, the English crown on one side and George III’s bust on the other, the Latin writing reading’George III by the grace of God, King of Great Britain, France and Ireland’, the pendant with an attached small bail and a large dangling solid 18k yellow gold bail-a fabulous pendant and a great piece of English history! The third guinea tests for 22k gold, the dangling bail tests for 18k gold. The pendant measures approximately 25mm x 16mm including the bail. The bail will hold a chain up to about 4mm wide. The pendant has a total weight of about 3.05 grams. The pendant is in very good condition with all over general wear to the coin and bails.
