This is the first and only time a Kennedy Half Dollar has been struck in gold. Each coin was struck at the West Point Mint from 99.99% pure gold. 9999 pure gold, with a weight of ¾ oz. Produced by the US Mint at West Point facility. Coin mintage – 75,000. Coin comes packaged in US Mint original box, accompanied by the Certificate of Authenticity. Obverse: Features the left profile of John F. Kennedy, created by the US Mint Chief – Engraver Gilroy Roberts. Reverse: Depictsaheraldic eagle with a shield on its chest, holding a symbolic olive branch on its right talon and a bundle of 13 arrows on its left talon. Inscriptions: “United States of America”, “Half Dollar”, “¾ oz”, . Below the eagle’s right talon is the mint mark “W” for West Point Mint.
