The obverse of each coin features Lady Liberty marching forward confidently with the sun rising in the back, the Capitol building to the side. Inscriptions include “LIBERTY” and the year of mintage. The reverse of each coin shows a family of eagles, the male eagle can be seen flying with an olive branch in its talons, while the female cares for their hatchlings.
