Our in-house numismatist staff assign conditions to all products. The condition assigned to the products is derived from industry-wide standards. Please keep in mind that most images are stock images, and therefore you should not expect to receive the pictured products. Silver products, and some gold as well, may exhibit milk spots, and/or toning, which are normal and do not change the condition described in the listing, nor the value of the product. Coins that are holdered by one of the major grading companies are graded based on the condition they were in at the time of grading. However, at times, coins do tend to develop spotting or toning which are a normal happenstance in coins. Please keep in mind, the appearance of the toning and/or milk spots does not mean that the coin is not the grade specified on the actual slab. In instances where there is a discrepancy where the customer believes to be unjust, please refer to the grading companys guarantee policy. Both NGC and PCGS have a program where they will compensate the owner of the current coin if they believe the coin deserves a lower grade than it had originally received. Please note, bullion coins, bars and rounds are mass-produced and are not struck to the same quality standards as collector coins. These bullion products are not certified and therefore will not always be 100% perfect. All sales are final and therefore in cases when a product is offered on a Deal Price, previously locked-in orders for that product will not be subject to price reductions or cancellations. Bullion Exchanges reserves the right to cancel sales that may or may not have typography issues within the listings, pricing inaccuracies, systematic faults by our system, and/or errors caused by eBays system, without further notice. Purchasing bullion and/or coins involves price risk, and the purchaser assumes all such risk. We do not offer or make price adjustments based on the market fluctuations of precious metals, or for any other reason. We will never ask the customer to pay more for a product if the price significantly increased, so please refrain from requesting price adjustments after market prices decrease. 1895-M, Australia, Queen Victoria. Gold Sovereign Coin. Melbourne! PCGS MS-62
1895-M, Australia, Queen Victoria. Mint Date: 1895 Reference: KM-13. Denomination: Sovereign Mint Place: Melbourne (M) Condition. Certified and graded by PCGS as MS-62! 917 Diameter: 22mm Weight: 7.98gm. Obverse: Crowned and veiled bust of Queen Victoria left. Legend: VICTORIA D : G : BRITT : REG : F : D : Reverse: St. George, wearing Attic helmet, right on horse, holding sword in preparation to dispatch prostrate and wounded Dragon below. Mint initial (M) on ground, date (1895) in exergue. Broken shaft of lance to left on ground, engraver´s initials B. Below ground to right. (May 29, 1783 September 16, 1855) was a talented engraver of gemstones, cameos, coins and medals. Born in Italy, he moved to London in 1815 and was employed at the Royal Mint as an engraver, where his most famous work is his portrayal of St. George & the Dragon used on British gold sovereigns and crowns first created during the Great Recoinage of 1816. He also engraved the dies for many other coins, medals, and medallions, including the Waterloo Medal, which took him over thirty years to complete. He refused to copy the work of any other artist or engraver, and insisted that all his work was his own original work. Because of his Italian origin, he was not officially recognised as the chief engraver at the Royal Mint, and there were rivalries with other engravers including the Wyon family. Victoria (Alexandrina Victoria; 24 May 1819 22 January 1901) was from 20 June 1837 the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and from 1 May 1876 the first Empress of India until her death. Her reign as Queen lasted 63 years and seven months, longer than that of any other British monarch to date. The period centred on her reign is known as the Victorian era. Though Victoria ascended the throne at a time when the United Kingdom was already an established constitutional monarchy in which the king or queen held few political powers, she still served as a very important symbolic figure of her time. The Victorian era represented the height of the Industrial Revolution, a period of significant social, economic, and technological progress in the United Kingdom. Victoria’s reign was marked by a great expansion of the British Empire; during this period it reached its zenith, becoming the foremost global power of the time. Victoria, who was of almost entirely German descent, was the granddaughter of George III and the niece of her predecessor William IV. She arranged marriages for her nine children and forty-two grandchildren across the continent, tying Europe together; this earned her the nickname “the grandmother of Europe”. She was the last British monarch of the House of Hanover; her son King Edward VII belonged to the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. Through her mother, she was also a first cousin twice removed of Maria Theresa, Holy Roman Empress. The item “1895-M, Australia, Queen Victoria. Gold Sovereign Coin. Melbourne! All sovereigns weigh 7.98 grammes, and are made of 22 carat gold (0.917 fine) and have a diameter of 22.05 mm. I have several of these coins available. 1989 was a momentous year, when the world witnessed memorable events such as the fall of the Berlin Wall finally reuniting Germany. This was also a significant year for the United Kingdoms coinage as the gold Sovereign celebrated its 500th anniversary. Maybe you know someone with special memories from 1989, perhaps someone born or married that year? If so mark the moment with this very special version of The Sovereign, struck in 1989 and bearing a Tudor rose on its reverse and an intricate design showing The Queen, seated as at her coronation, on its obverse. In its original packaging, this authentic coin makes a perfect nostalgic gift or a worthy addition to any collection. Feel free to ask any questions and please take the opportunity to view my other items. 8-Piece Great Britain Gold Sovereign Coin Design Set – Eight Different Types! About Gold Sovereigns First introduced in 1489, the Gold Sovereign has become one of the most famous and collectible coins in world history. The gold coins were first minted under the rule of King Henry VII. Each coin had a nominal value of one Pound Sterling and weighed about half an ounce. Gold Sovereigns were originally issued in 23-carat gold (95.83% pure), but the composition was modified to 22-carat gold (91.67% pure). The latter is the same alloy used to produce American Gold Eagles. The British Empire established numerous mint branches around the world, each producing large quantities of Gold Sovereigns. However, many of these coins were pulled from circulation and melted down over the years. By the 1940s, Gold Sovereigns had shifted from being circulated coins to becoming a bullion item. In fact, the UK continued producing them as bullion pieces. These coins remain one of the world&###x2019;s preferred means of owning gold. About This Set Provident has compiled a number of sets of all eight major Gold Sovereign designs issued from the 1830s to today. Queen Victoria &###x201C;Young Head&###x201D; design (issued from 1838 to 1887). Queen Victoria &###x201C;Jubilee&###x201D; design (issued from 1887 to 1892). Queen Victoria &###x201C;Veiled Head&###x201D; design (issued from 1887 to 1902). King Edward VII design (issued from 1902 to 1910). King George V design (issued from 1911 to 1932). Queen Elizabeth II &###x201C;Bare Head&###x201D; design (issued from 1957 to 1968). Queen Elizabeth II &###x201C;Crowned Head&###x201D; design (issued from 1974 to 1997). Queen Elizabeth II Tiara design. At Provident, our primary goal is to make it simple and safe to invest in precious metals.
