The coin is in solid silver, bezel set in a heavy solid 14K Yellow Gold. The entire bezel including the beautifully decorated bail is heavy solid 14K. Measures 1.5″ length x 1.25″ at the widest point x 4mm thick. Coins like this were rescued in the famous Atocha Shipwreck Recovery by Mel Fisher and were the target of pirates during colonial times.
